VIDEO SCRIPT
Opening Scene:
Music from the beginning of 2001 plays:
We see a close-up of a hominid looking aggressive and ready to attack
Music gets quiet and the narrator speaks:
N: Since the beginning of time man has made choices
The camera focuses on the face as the hominid charges to attack.
N: And sometimes those choices don’t work out as planned.
The music stops abruptly as the hominid gets clubbed in the head with a thigh bone

Scene 2:
Close-up of a man in biblical garb sticking out his hand to feel the rain. He shakes his head to his wife signaling that it is only a little rain
N: Sometimes we misread obvious signs that we should have noticed
The camera zooms out to reveal on a hill in the background Noah’s arc with animals lined up to go in

Scene 3:
Napoleon on horseback signals his army to move forward.
N: Or we make decisions that in retrospect were wrong.
As the army moves they pass a sign on the road which says “Waterloo ahead”

Scene 3:
A man and his wife in a covered wagon enter the gate of a fort looking very relieved.
N: Sometimes we have a sense of security
The camera moves to the sign above the gate that reads “Welcome to the Alamo”
N: which is clearly misplaced

Scene 4:
Custer leading his army
N: And we go places
They pass a sign saying “Little Big Horn”
N: where we should not go.

Scene 5:
People lined up to go on a ship
N: And end up in places where we clearly would rather not be
Zoom out to see the name of the ship is “Titanic”

Scene 6:
We see a Clydesdale horse running
N: One thing we learn from all human history is-
The Clydesdale horse stops to urinate
N: To err is human
The camera zooms in on the spot where the horse is urinating on a can of
Bud Light with Dylan Mulvaney’s picture on it
N: We’re Bud Light and we screwed up

Scene 7:
The American flag over the capital blowing in the wind
A banner appears on the screen saying:
Forgive Us, America
The ending music of 2001 starts playing softly as the scene fades into the next scene

Final scene:
The music of 2001 playing loudly now.
Zoom in on the dead hominid lying on the ground. As the music continues the camera zooms out and we see in the distance the victorious hominid throwing the thigh bone in the air.
